One of the biggest concerns regarding the global economy is the US-China trade war. Both countries are having tansions but there is still hope for an agreement.

The relationship between the US and China government is becoming hotter than ever due to the US-China trade war. Can we expect something happened next to cool off of this relationship?

The agreements between the two countries

China has agreed with Washington to roll back some tariffs, raising hopes that the government can reach a deal to end the trade war with the US. As a consequence, stock markets soared to all-time highs. It also prompted the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to say a deal easing trade tensions between the two countries.

According to Chinese officials, they were thrashing out the shape of a first-stage trade deal. Beijing will be forced to end a moratorium on purchases of some US agricultural goods including soya beans. Likewise, Washington will be applying lighter tariffs on Chinese imports. China would also remove tariffs – taxes imposed on imports as they are reported to be looking at the removal of curbs on US poultry imports.

The impact of the US-China trade war on stock market

The trade war between the world’s largest and second largest economies has driven the stock market recently. The Dow Jones industrial average went up and down following the agreements made. There are still a lot of hurdles ahead. But the Chinese government and the US government are sending more positive signals which can reduce our concern for the stock markets in the near future.

Although there are a lot of failed deals in the past, investors still hope for an agreement. However, the two sides need to make further progress in the coming months. While the US is wielding the pressure of tariffs, it is trying to extract broader concessions. China would be forced to protect American companies from intellectual property theft as well as unfair competition.
