The UK's first flying taxi will serve passengers in 2023



The UK allows testing of flying taxis for two years in the city of Bristol before being put into service to passengers.

In 2023, people in the city of Bristol, England will be able to ride in very spacious flying taxis.  This flying taxi project is being supported by the British government.

The company that makes these cars, Vertical Aerospace, has received a £2.5 million grant to test the viability of the project.  The inventors plan to 2023 put in test for serving passengers.

This project is funded in part by the UK government's Future Flight Challenge Program.  The goal of this program is to find more efficient and eco-friendly means of transportation to avoid congestion and protect the planet.

Based on public feedback, demand for flight taxi service, this project will come up with a suitable test flight plan.  Bristol Airport is the primary airport for this flying taxi operation.  Each flight taxi will have a pilot and with the current design it can carry 4 passengers.

The inventors say when looking at the future of traffic, they realize that it is important right now to find new, sustainable, and applicable ways to increasingly densely populated cities.
