The importance of nutrition for children health and development

Nutrients play an extremely important role in the health and development of the body.  A nutritious diet is a meal that is full of nutritional ingredients in both quantity and quality.

Instinctively we all know that food is essential to life from birth.  Many studies show that diet will make children healthier and better able to learn. The importance of nutrition for children health and development is undeniable.

I. What is nutrition?

Nutrients are substances or chemical compounds that are responsible for maintaining and developing life and body activities through metabolic processes and are usually provided through diet.  For humans, the main nutrients are provided through daily meals.

II.  The importance of nutrition

Nutrients play a very important role for the health and development of the body, especially young children.  Nutrients include energy-generating and non-energizing substances.  Energy-generating substances include protein, fats and carbohydrates.  Non-energy substances include vitamins, minerals and water
Currently, many parents do not properly understand the importance of nutrition and the needs of micronutrients, so they supplement their children incorrectly, lack or excess of micronutrients all affect their baby's health.  The severe deficiency in micronutrients will lead to a number of phenomena, symptoms of micronutrient deficiency affecting growth and development of children like:

Lack of micronutrients is often prone to diseases:
 - Lack of Vitamin A causes dry eyes
 - Lack of Vitamin B1 causes anesthesia
 - Lack of Vitamin D, Calcium causes rickets for children, osteoporosis for the elderly
 Iron-folate deficiency causes anemia.
 - Lack of Iode causes goiter, dullness.

Other micronutrients may also be lacking.

Micronutrients are essential for the survival of the body, so in order to actively prevent micronutrient deficiency, vitamin and mineral rich foods should be added in daily meals.  eat all 4 food groups (starch, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals).  Specifically, vegetables, fruits, eggs, and crabs are rich in protein, vitamins, and nutrients.

However, it is necessary to ensure food safety and hygiene:
 - Choose from fresh, clean and clear sources of vegetables and fruits.
 - Meat, eggs for cattle and poultry need to choose foods that are quarantined by the Veterinary Agency.
 - At the same time, it should be done well for foods that need to be cooked, or boiled to ensure FHS.
Responding to the "Nutrition and Development" Week while well maintaining the selection and use of a variety of nutritious and safe foods to ensure health, to meet the needs of the special body especially mothers and children.

Children can be picky eaters.  For many parents, it's easy to imagine a stubborn toddler throwing a piece of broccoli on the floor in disgust - after all, it's a familiar sight.  However, it is important for parents to find a way to persuade their child to eat that other piece of broccoli, because studies show that a balanced diet directly affects the child's growth and development.

III. The importance of nutrition for children health and development

The relationship between nutrition, health and learning is undeniable: nutrition is one of the three main factors influencing a child's development.  Because genes and the environment are two other factors, eating one food cannot guarantee a child any smarter, even though my mother taught me to be successful at eating fish when I was little for that reason.  However, studies show that nutrition in the early years of a child is related to their health and academic performance in later years.

With regard to nutrition, however, we can define for ourselves that the "first years of a baby's life" begin before birth.  Lack of nutrition during pregnancy slows down fetal growth and can lead to poor brain development as a cause of chronic irreversible diseases.  Lack of nutrition of a nursing mother will also negatively affect a baby's development, especially within the first 6 months when the baby is exclusively breastfed.  For new mothers, there should be a healthy and well-balanced diet full of important nutrients that mom and baby need: carbohydrates, protein, calcium, iron and vitamins A, C and D. Wear  Although mgay at first glance this list may seem a bit overwhelming, in fact we are likely to consume most of these nutrients - a full plate helps to describe the following ratios.

Is it really important for children to consume all of these nutrients?  Short answer: yes.  The benefits of good nutrition on health are uncompromising, but some of the following conclusions made by researchers serve to support my point.  First, breastfeeding mothers with a nutritious diet leads to a number of diseases including diarrhea, otitis media, and less bacterial meningitis.  Second, since iron is an important component of brain cells, iron deficiency causes nerve cells to move more slowly and can cause permanent brain damage to a child, especially during the first two years of life;  Iron deficiency during this time is associated with behavioral changes and delayed psychological development.  However, too much production also has many problems.  As my mother used to wisely tell me: "the important thing is to find the middle way."  Third, lack of nutrition has been shown to reduce children's activity levels, social interaction, curiosity, and instantaneous receptivity.  Although parents everywhere may wish their child not to be overactive when jumping in bed at 6am, good nutrition is still needed.

It's bizarre to think your child's consumption, say, 4 months will affect his ability to learn after that.  Research proves it to be true.  During childhood, it is important to keep track of your baby's nutrient intake for future effects.  For example, breastfeeding appears to lead to a higher IQ, while iron deficiency is associated with reduced cognition and school-age performance.  It is more obvious to the average person, because children with low nutrition are often sick, they often drop out of school and cannot keep up with their friends.  Research has done with this link even more clearly: school-aged kids who eat breakfast often have better tests than kids who don't.

3.  "Please eat."

When you have work to go, bills and plates to wash, get your kids to eat things they don't want (especially when doing so can lead to terrible anger) sometimes worry.  But that is extremely important.  The following nutritional guidelines are relatively simple throughout pregnancy, as well as at the beginning of a child's life.  As your child begins to develop likes or dislikes, my advice to you is to accept hobbies but continue to introduce new foods by making silly faces and peeking forward when you hear giggle and see your baby happily put his spoon in his mouth.  Persistence.  I am sure your baby will thank you one day.
