A new renovation in technology world comes from Russia. Start-up Promobot just released a new model of robot which is considered to be the world’s first humanoid robot. It is called Robo-C.

What is Robo-C?

This robot can be integrated into a business environment. You can model its appearance after any person of your choosing. Robo-C has an ability to control its facial expressions with a high degree of precision, thanks to a complex proprietary system of motors, joints and artificial skin. In addition to that, a custom suite of software has been developed by the company’s engineers that can control over 600 distinct expressions. These expressions allow Robo-C to appear life-like. Aside from that, it has 18 independent control points for mimicking facial expressions. In its communication system, there are over a 100,000 speech modules. It also has 3 DOF head control including pan, tilt and pitch. The robot’s battery can last for 8 hours.

What can Robo-C do?

Robo-C can be a consultant robot, an office employee, an administrator or a home assistant. As a consultant robot, he/she can work in a busy environment like a shopping mall, a museum or at an exhibition in a role of an assistant. Robo-C has the ability to provide useful and necessary information to the customers, answer their questions and entertain them. As an office employee and an administrator, Robo-C not only is a robot can communicate with both customers and employees, but also supply them with relevant information such as responding to simple queries or answering complex context-based requests. He/she can be integrated into the company’s infrastructure to handle more custom needs. As a home assistant, Robo-C can be integrating into your home environment. The robot is not just a spectacular addition to the interior, but he/she can manage your smart home system.
