Thailand reduces quarantine periods to promote tourism

From today April 1, Thailand will shorten the quarantine period for people entering to this country from 14 days to 10 days.

This measure is designed to promote tourism.  Accordingly, a 10-day quarantine period applies to both Thais and foreigners entering, except for cases coming from places where the COVID-19 virus has changed, including 11 countries in Africa.

During this time, the arrivals will be tested for COVID-19 twice.  Particularly in 6 key tourism provinces, foreign tourists with COVID-19 vaccination certificates will have their quarantine period reduced to only 7 days.

According to Thailand's plan to reopen the country, the provinces of Pattaya, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Phang Nga and Krabi will also be complied with this rule from October.  According to the new plan approved by the Thai Cabinet, all quarantine requirements for foreign visitors will be lifted by 2022.
