Teens can be seriously harmed if they use dietary supplements. Supplements for teens have the ability to shrink waistlines, build muscle mass and boost energy. However supplements for teenage muscle building, teenage weight lifting supplements or teenage weight loss supplements are being warned at risk.

According to a study’s reports of health problems that occurred after teens taking supplements for teenage muscle building , teenage weight lifting supplements or teenage weight loss supplements. They can put themselves at risk of serious harm and even death. In total of 977 surveyed cases, 40 percent of them were related to trips to the emergency room, hospitalization, disability or death; the remaining cases, coughing to the doctor’s office.

In fact FDA has issued a warning about some supplements for teenage muscle building and teenage weight lifting supplements. The researchers found that the supplement was responsible for the majority of the above cases. However, the study did not consider the specific ingredients of the supplements.

However, the researchers’ findings may be underestimated because consumers are not always aware that their symptoms including chronic diarrhea, dehydration, stroke, seizures, heart problems and kidney and liver damage, etc are related to the use of supplements. More dangerous, they do not report to their doctors.

On the other hand, according to a commercial organization for the supplement industry, Nutrition Council, the majority of dietary supplements are safe. On the market, there are many illegal, fake products as dietary supplements. They recommend that users should shopping smarter.

Scientists think there are two ways that dietary supplements can be harmful. Either they contain dangerous ingredients not listed on the label or the user has combined them with other supplements or prescription drugs. Hence, be careful when buying and using supplements for teenage muscle building, teenage weight lifting supplements, or teenage weight loss supplements.
