At each stage of life, there are different life goals such as: students who want to be at the top of their class, students want to win scholarships, graduate school, want to find a good job ... Especially as adults, life goals.  Life becomes more and more important than ever, only when you have life goals, you will achieve success.  The life goals are clear, the destination is close.

Surely anyone at a critical stage in life will experience these things, so don't live wastefully, one way or the other doing them in a real meaningful way.  Whether it's your long-term or short-term goals, once you have them identified, you will feel like you are living a worthy life.

If you want to achieve success, you need to set your own life goals.  Without a goal, you lack focus and direction.

Goal setting not only helps you control the direction of your life, but also serves as the norm for determining whether you are truly successful or not.  To accomplish your life goals you also need to know how to set them.  You can't just say, "I want" and expect a miracle to happen because goal setting is a long process that begins with careful consideration of what you want to achieve and ends with lots of difficulties.  Towels must be completed.  Between the beginning and the end, there should be a clear set of steps to overcome the requirements of each goal.

II. Five golden rules to define your life goals

1. Success criteria #1: Life goals must be motivated

When setting a goal, make sure it can motivate you to do it, as it is so important to you and creates value in its accomplishment.  If you are not excited about the results, or the goal is not relevant to the larger goal, then you will put less effort into it and the goal is unlikely to be accomplished.  Motivation is therefore the key to achieve success.

Only set goals related to high priorities in life because if there are too many life goals, there will be less time for each.  To achieve a goal there is a commitment.  If not, you run the risk of not completing what you need to do to make your life goals come true and thereby frustrating yourself, causing frustration.

Tip: To make sure your life goals are motivating, write down a life goal map that is valuable and important to you.  Ask yourself, "If I shared this goal with others, what would I tell them to convince them that it is a worthy goal?"  You can use motivation value when you begin to doubt yourself or lose trust.

2. Success criteria #2: Set SMART life goals

You may have heard of “SMART life goals” before, but have you applied the rules?  It can be said that goals set according to SMART rules will create more motivation for people to set.  There are many interpretations of the word SMART but in general SMART stands for: Specific - Measurable - Feasible - Suitable - Timeframe

Set specific goals: Life goals must be clear and well-defined, avoiding ambiguous or general goals because they don't provide full direction.  Remember, you need your goal to show the way so make it easier for your goal to be by pinpointing exactly where you want to end.
Set measurable goals: Life goals must include exact workloads, dates, etc. in order to be able to measure the success of that goal.  If your goal is simply "Reduce costs", how will you know when you will be successful?  In a month if you get 1% reduction in costs or in two years when you get 10% off costs?  If you don't have a way to measure success, you miss out on celebrating the next moment of success.
Set workable life goals: Make sure your goals are achievable or you will easily lose confidence and get discouraged.  However, also avoid setting goals too easily because when you don't have to work hard to achieve your goals, victory will mean nothing and make you shy away from setting risky goals.  It is best to set a realistic but challenging goal to balance everything that makes you "enhance" and bring the greatest satisfaction to yourself.
Set compatible life goals: When you set your life goals in line with your life and career orientations, you can develop a focus to keep moving forward and perfecting yourself.  If you set goals too wide and aren't right, you will find time going one way, and life going another.
Set deadline goals: Life goals should always have a deadline.  That means you'll know the exact time to achieve success.  When you work under the pressure of deadlines, you'll feel the urgency and achieve success faster.

3. Success criteria #3: Write a paper life goals chart

Writing your life goals in writing makes your life goals more realistic and tangible because there's no reason to forget them.  When you write, use the word "will" instead of "want" or "could".  For example, "I will reduce the operating cost below 10% this year", instead of "I want to reduce the operating cost below 10% this year."  The first way of recording looks more realistic and you "see" clearly that you are cutting costs.  The second may seem like a lack of passion and will give you an excuse for distraction.

4. Success criteria #4: Make a goal action plan

This step is often overlooked in life goals setting because the person who establishes is so concerned with the "output" that he forgets to plan every step along the way.  By writing down each step, you will know where you are going and see the progress towards your final goal.  This is an extremely important note if your life goals are too large and long term.  If you want to practice improving your communication skills effectively, make a plan to overcome current weaknesses, followed by small actions that form a professional communication habit.

5. Success criteria #5:  Stick to your life goals!

Remember, goal setting is a process, not just the end.  Always keep in mind and remind yourself to follow up on your life goals and take time to review them regularly.  A long-term destination may still be the same as in the beginning, but your action plan towards your self-discovery goal can change dramatically.  Make sure to keep the compatibility, value and necessity of your goal.

1. Focus on changing a habit and be consistent with life goals

The number 1 reason people don't reach their life goals is that they don't persistently follow the path they choose.  For example, you want to lose weight.  Instead of bluntly cutting back on your portion sizes, what if you just cut your evening cream sandwich by 300 calories?  You don't change anything but a little thing.  By the end of the year, you have eliminated 100,000 calories from your body.

This is a simple example, but it shows how consistency can help you achieve your life goals.  Don't try to make a magical transformation overnight.  Instead, focus on one thing and do it every day for about 2 months.  Change will lead to more and more habits changing, and you will quickly achieve your life goals.

 2. Keep track of everything related to the life goals

From now on, write down everything for the day that you are working on related to the life goals you set for yourself.  If you want to become healthier, write down everything you eat every day.  Let's say you are a business owner.  Write down everything you did to move the business forward.

By the end of the day, the results will surprise you.  You will be able to see what you have done for the company and realize that many of your activities are unnecessary.  Keeping track of what we do has a profound effect on us because it forces us to evaluate our progress against specific metrics.  We can't forget that we watched TV for 2 hours in a row or ate 3 slices of cheese cake.  The key to achieving our life goals is to keep track of the things that are hindering us and eliminate those distractions.

 3. Write down your life goals

Write down 3 big things that you want to accomplish.  These must be the great life goals you want to achieve.  Not yet written, these goals are just fantasies.  Putting them on paper will make them a reality.  There are so many distractions in the world today, and we ignore 99% of them.  But when we actually have immediate daily goals, we naturally start thinking about them more.  Spend all your energy and time thinking about what you want to achieve and you will be on the right track.

Setting a life goal is not simply about wanting something to happen.  Unless you define exactly what you want to do and understand why you want to do it in the first place, it will be difficult to achieve that goal.  Through 5 golden rules in goal setting, you can confidently set a satisfied goal when you can finally conquer the life goals and achieve success
