Livestream is expected to be a big thing to the e-commerce industry

Alibabas Taobao makes a prediction that livestreaming will be the next big thing in e-commerce. The e-commerce giant quoting data from Deloitte which shows that China is the worlds largest live broadcast audience, with 456 million people. It is worth noting that average sales increased by 4.4 billion USD in 2018.

Amazon has updated this new trend

Taobao has created more than 100 billion RMB total volume of goods through live stream, growing up to 400% over the same period in 2018. More than 100 people live stream to earn a monthly income of 1 million RMB or higher. Furthermore, the number of registered live broadcasters increased by 180 percent in the past 12 months. The most popular products are apparel, jewelry, food, and beauty.

Chen Lei, Director of E-commerce at Taobao said: “We are defining a new industry. This industry will become more competitive, more and more people will join, and we will see a greater variety of content.

We will continue to focus on the consumer-goods category, while bringing livestreaming even closer to users by enriching our platform and making it even more simple, efficient and warm.”

Amazon is joining QVC with the launch of Amazon Live, which has live video programs from Amazons talents as well as their live broadcast brands through a new application, Amazon Live Creator. Sellers will talk about and show products available for sale on Amazon, just like they do on QVC. Below it is a carousel where shoppers can browse product details and purchase items.

You can click on different videos to change the stream, scroll down to see the record of recent videos directly or see which live shows are going to be released easily.

Available only on iOS, this app allows a brand to stream its video content directly to Amazon.com on desktops, mobile devices, and in the Amazon mobile app. The application supports streaming directly from the smartphone itself or via the encoder using a professional camera.
