Let's start a vegan life with vegan clothing if you are still not!

Vegan life with vegan fashion is becoming the main trend and is expected to last forever.

Vegan community continue to create new industries while bringing fresh air to the masses. The global travel and suitcases industry is no exception, as consumers are demanding more from luggage manufacturers. Specifically, travel bags must be made from eco-friendly materials and not sourced from animals or their parts.

Grand View Research found that "animal rights" was the biggest driver of this movement.  Google search data also noted that more and more people are interested in imitation leather, synthetic leather, artificial leather. The keyword "What is vegan leather made out of" has become extremely hot on Google Trends, with searches increasing 5,000%  (data 2017-2018).  Keywords related to “non-animal” travel bags such as “affordable vegan handbags” (affordable vegan bags) increased by 1,200% (data 2017-2018).

Leather continues to be a premium material in the market.  However, concerns about the environment and functional limitations may prevent its growth.  Many people are contributing to protecting the environment by choosing more sustainable materials.

Vegan is the fashion term used to refer to clothing and footwear produced with material that is completely free from animals or parts thereof.  Vegan clothing always ensures that no animal has been slaughtered to produce them.  While there are only a handful of specialty vegan shop that specialize in the vegan clothing, you can purchase vegan clothing from any retailer by learning how to identify vegan products through the information on the clothing label.  Let's find out how you will have to do to be able to choose and buy the right vegan clothing!

1. Vegan community buy imitation leather instead of genuine leather or suede

Vegan community will buy imitation leather instead of genuine leather or suede.

Leather is of course not Vegan as it is made from animal skin.  Read the label attached to the clothing to see if it is a leather “replacement” product.  You can find vegan products such as pleather, synthetic leather, man-made leather, waxed-cotton or imitation leather ( imitation-leather).  Clothing made from imitation leather is generally lower priced than clothing made from genuine leather or suede.

2. Vegan community don't buy clothes or fabrics made from silk

Although silk is produced from natural silk, be aware that more times the silk will be boiled to get more silk.
Buy fabrics with the silk-like properties that you feel like, such as polyester, nylon, rayon, tussah, cotton, cotton seed, and man-made silk made from wood pulp.

3. Vegan community don't buy clothes made from animal hair or feathers

Clothing made from animal hair or feathers are also not vegan clothing as they are plucked from animals while they are alive, or they will be killed to provide feathers.
Read the labels attached to your clothing for fur and feather alternatives such as polyester, synthetic fur, artificial fur, and hypoallergenic synthetic hair.

4. Vegan community don't buy clothes made of any wool

Goats, sheep, camels, and rabbits are the feedstock for wool, you should know that, in some cases, they are raised under very harsh conditions for their fur.

Wool products to avoid are Algerian goat wool, Cashmere wool, Pashmina goat hair, goat wool, camel hair, and wool.  Instead, you can buy alternative wool materials like polyester wool, flannel cotton, acrylic yarn, orlon fabric, synthetic wool, synthetic wool, and any synthetic wool fabric.

Some artificial products have a thickness that is not inferior to wool, they are very warm, and can resist moisture.  These products are usually made from the recycling of plastic soda bottles and you can easily find them in clothing stores.

5. Vegan community buy products made from fake fur instead of real fur or leather

Fur and skin, of course, are not Vegan, as they come from farmed or trapped animals such as foxes, weasels, lynx, rabbits, and more.

Once again, look at the labels attached to the clothes, they will show you Vegan materials like fake fur, polyester fabric, acrylic fiber or modacrylic fiber.  False fur made from these materials can look exactly like real hair.

Vegan clothing can also be made from organic fabrics, hemp fibers, and bamboo.

If your clothing or shoes are made abroad, learn the words of non-Vegan materials yourself, like "silk" (silk) or "leather" (leather) in many different languages.

Ask a salesman or contact the manufacturer directly if you are unsure if a product is vegan.
