Korean or Japanese beauty ?

May 12, 2019

Both Korean and Japanese beauty industry is developing dramatically. This is due to the global skincare trend which is putting its attention to the beauty tips, the products and skincare procedures originated in these two countries. The article will discuss more.

What are the differences?

Japanese beauty is too famous for its simplicity. Their skincare routines are not complicated and generally, are much shorter than that of Korean people. Japanese tips focus more on hydration. And they do not require many products as in Korean beauty. Japanese skincare focuses on cleansers, moisturizer and essences to make skin plump and supple.

Korea, on the other hand, is well-known for its 12+ step routines.  They believe that more attention to details will bring a good result for their skin. Therefore, Korean beauty products are extremely diverse, for example, eye cream, sheet mark, ampoule, oil-based cleanser, toner, essence, water-based cleanser,…

The ingredients are one of the main differences between products from the two countries. Products contain anti-inflammatory ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid, green tea, Aloe Vera,… While in Korea, beauty products focus more on snail mucin, sea-kelp and rice bran,…

Japanese beauty tips

Japanese women have used green tea as one of their main beauty ingredients. The amount of caffeine in green tea acts like a multivitamin for your face, helping it plumper and brighter. Rice wine is famous as it can brighten the skin due to its natural enzymes. Rice bran is often used for exfoliating treatment to have softer skin. Another Japanese beauty ingredient is azuki bean. Containing antioxidants and Saponin, this bean can help to tighten pores and clean our skin deeply.

There are some differences between Korean beauty and Japanese beauty. However, both beauty industries are too famous for their unique beauty procedures and skincare products.
