Fish skin creates a modern storm now in the fashion industry

What do you think of when talking about skin? Slaughter and inhumane? You will never support any product from the skin? However, you can be assured that it is a thing of the past. Now there is a new eco-friendly fashion solution for those who like leather products. Which trends are emerging recently? It is fish leather.

A new thing about fashion industry trends and opportunities

Similar to snakeskin motifs, fish skin is now a sustainable material for high end fashion products. Yes, you can trust your eyes, fish skin is sustainable animal skin and a new trend in fashion industry

Using fish skin as a raw material is not as bad as you think because producers are creating their products from waste and recycling it instead of killing fish.

The fashion industry is now being under pressure for changing because of the boycott of ethical animal products. Also, at London Fashion Week in early September, the use of fur was banned from the show. In addition, there has been a huge shortage of cowhide leading to environmentally friendly fashion designers are more interested in fish leather. As seen, fish skin creates new waves for trends in the fashion industrySome fashion giants as Christian Dior, Prada and John Galliano are starting to use fish leather for their eco friendly fashion products.

The fish leather producers undertake not to kill any fish for the products, they asserted that fish waste was used. The producers have processing plants and used geothermal energy, a renewable source to create recycled products and they have sold about 150,000 skins this year. This using fishy food waste for new high end fashion products will be a trend that encourages sustainability, but will be rising demand to exploit ocean farming. It is a danger with using marine life for human materialism which leads to a decline of marine life.

Supporting eco friendly fashion products is a “Should” but must be seeing the balance of nature life.
