China is considered as the world’s largest consumer nation from low-cost to the top of the high-fashion market. In this post, I will show more detail about China’s fashion market.

The growth of fashion

According to the report, China will for the first time in centuries overtake the US as the largest fashion market in 2019. One of the big reasons here is from the government’s ‘consumption upgrade’ (the growing demand for high-quality goods and services).

E-commerce is one of the main factor driving of fashion growth in China. Consumers in areas of the country access to fashion items from platform such as Taobao, Alibaba.. It focuses on bringing fashion trends to a population of more than a billion people all over a country.

For the past these days, e-commerce accounts for a greater proportion of retail sales in China. Online retail increases year on year with better design, faster turnaround and an advantage in local knowledge.

How it reached to people

Fashion brands in China have the original equipment manufacturer to the high value- added cause it depends on the consumer demand. Besides, China’s leading brands have significantly improved in terms of international expansion, mainly via brand and design.

Along with a pause in trade hostilities between China and the US, it is at least a short-term positive influence on Chinese consumer confidence- are good news for China’s fashion brand too. 

International luxury brands also have to work harder and try more with local digital so as to reach the growing base of fashion consumers in China’s cities;  however, it will take some time for that. Hopefully, all the information above can help you know more specific about China’s fashion market as I mentioned.
