New trends about health and wellness

The $4.2 trillion health care economy is booming and Japan is the country it holds the highest position. Domestic health tourism, J-Beauty, future healthcare real estate, technological solutions to the long-term economy and new emphasis on mental health at work which promote Japan to have a strong future of health.

No health and wellness tourism market will grow faster than Asia by 2022, with revenues expected to double from $137 billion to $252 billion. Japan has underestimated the value of culture and health tourism destinations. These authentic assets can be utilized to promote more sustainable, high-turnover tourism.

Asia is the market leader for growth in the global market for health tourism that worths $639 billion: medical tourism trips to Asia have grown a staggering 33% over the 2015-2017 period (reaching 258 million annually). While the Japanese wellness retreats market ranks fifth in the world, it has witnessed a modest increase in Japanese medical tourism compared to other Asian countries. Japan has unique properties that healthcare travelers crave from traditional hot spring culture to the forest bath there.

Health is rewriting the $1.1 trillion beauty market, as natural, non-toxic and sustainable ingredients increase, with consumers looking to prevent repairs and super personalized mode.

An important aspect of the healthcare real estate market is that future connected cities will bring the required health to the world’s residential and urban areas. Building good smart cities in the future is a natural opportunity for Japan, with healthcare real estate companies to invest in as Panasonic, Sony, NEC, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Philips, etc.

So why haven’t you tried for your experience with some Japanese health and wellness retreats?
